1880 Leadville CO Grant Inaugural

[Ulysses S. Grant]. Dance Card and Ball Ticket. 3" x 4.5", Leadville, Colorado, July 23, 1880, a dance card with program for the "First Grand Reception Ball of the Union Veterans and Citizens in Honor of General Grant," held at Leadville City Hall. Accompanied by a small green ticket to the event. Dance card is unused.

Condition: Light wear and toning on card, darker on verso. Ticket is creased and cracked in places, otherwise very fine.

DESCRIPTION: This, approx 4" x  1/2" card is a ticket printed with "Social Gathering of the Young Folks Terpsichorean Club to be given at Merritt & Ferguson's Thursday, April 16th, 1874 -- Admit  - -  And Lady". 

The backside lists the Programme of 18 various dance numbers including: Quadrille, Lancers, Galop, Virginia Reel, Monkey Musk, Portland Fancy, Dan Tucker etc. The condition is very good as seen. No damage.

I do not where this is actually from, other than I got it in the proximity of Rochester, Canandaguia, E. Bloomfield area of Western New York.
